We will announce the winner on April 20th.

EOTO creates all of their music live without any loops.  It is the epitome of organic electronic music.  They recently debuted their new Lotus Stage for an enhanced live experience.  Anyone with a love for electronic music should appreciate what band members, Michael Travis and Jason Hann do.

Here’s a free treat from the Brooklyn-based dj/producer AC Slater released a few hours ago. It’s a narly dubstep booty of Drake’s HYFR. The melody between the hard cranking got me.

EOTO is the 100% improvisational dubstep duo EOTO consisting of String Cheese Incident members Michael Travis and Jason Hann. From what I’ve heard, their live shows compare to no other. The duo mixes the organic sounds of live drums, bass and guitar through a variety of programs and gadgets that makes for a completely on-the-spot performance using nothing that is pre-recorded.

What I wanted to share today is news of their spring “Bass Invaders Tour”, kicking off on April 1st. Besides the usually immersive live sounds, a 17-foot lotus flower stage design and custom 3D-mapped projections will be incorporated into the performance (seen above). After their 3 show opening run in Boulder, LA and Philly with special guests at each stop, EOTO will add electronic music pioneer and former Glitch Mob member, Kraddy, starting April 1st as support for 24 more cities throughout the east coast. They’ll also have a number of solo shows along the way. Click here for the full tour date list.

Here is a 201BEATS exclusive track courtesy of EOTO sure to satisfy any dubstep crave. Bass friendly indeed.

EOTO – Zuskim

Not saying I like Dubstep, not saying I don’t. I like certain kinds. I know Sundays are usually for lazy relaxation for most, but the 201 inbox was hit up with Informant not too long ago and I’m forced to share some Dubstep today. Meet 20 year-old Rory Garton-Smith, aka Informant. He has a very unique bass-driven style, evident in his latest Glowing Up EP. Included today is Informant’s intro-track to the EP and two remixes included in the EP. Buy Glowing UP in its entirety on beatport.

Informant – First Harvest

Informant – Aftertaste (Riot Class Remix)

Informant – Osaka (Cenix & Hivemynd Remix)

this looks awesome. dF.

“Dubstep? 201BEATS? Hell naw.” But this is something special. First of all if you enjoy dubstep (Borgore – Delicious, respectively) and old school rap stop here and play. DJ Burnout, in honor of BIG L, decided to release a track off his upcoming album #hashtag, which drops 4/20. This track features Borgore’s Delicious instrumental, with vocals provided by The Pharcyde, Black Rob, Notorious BIG, Gorilla Zoe, and Big L.

If you have read my most of my previous posts, you have probably realized I am not the biggest fan of dubstep. However, when I first saw the video of the Skrillex’s live performance of his Levels Remix, I must admit I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a CDQ version. Now that we have one, sharing it with you is the least I could do…Is it too early to say….ah f*ck it…HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Here is Cazzette’s Remix which has been floating around for a while and is also pretty awesome

Throwback bonus beat.
Pakito – Living On Video 2.9

Skrillex teamed up with the remaining members of The Doors to create this finished product.  They did it while working on a documentary called RE:GENERATION, we aren’t sure if they recorded more material, for now we have this. You can check out the “First Look” of the documentary at the bottom of the post.

A little different then what we are used to from Skrillex, but once the song hits about 1:15 it goes crazy and from a guy that isnt a huge dubstep fan I am really feeling this track and I’ve been blasting it in my car for like 24 hours waiting for the perfect moment to give you guys an awesome new track for the weekend

Skrillex – Breakn’ a Sweat (Feat. The Doors)

I would be a much bigger fan. I dont really listen to Skrillex, but if XV continues to rap on his beats I might have to. I feel like its only a matter of time before XV starts getting radio play. This dudes flow is just too nice. A friend of mine put me on his wave senior year of high school and I’ve been following him closely ever since. Now this isn’t the best track I’ve heard from him, but I gotta show him love, because this man is at “Boss Level.”
